Former Central Connecticut State guard Jay Rodgers is making Penn State his next stop in his college basketball career.

Penn State men's basketball is going through another roster overhaul this offseason with the transfer window officially open. After losing a handful of players to the transfer portal, the Nittany Lions are now adding to the roster to find some veteran leadership for next season. Jay Rodgers, a guard from Central Connecticut State, announced his commitment to the Penn State program with a post on his Instagram account on Sunday.

Rodgers averaged 11. 0 points per game for Central Connecticut last season and played an average of 29. 3 minutes per game with 28 starts in 30 total appearances.

Rodgers was a second-team All-NEC player last season. This will be the third college program for Rodgers and he will have one season of eligibility remaining. Rodgers started his college career with one season with New Orleans in 2020-21 and spent a season in junior college before making a move to Central Connecticut State in 2022.
