Iowa basketball linked to Washington State transfer portal guard
Ben McCollum and Iowa basketball are reportedly in the mix for high-upside transfer guard Ace Glass.
The transfer portal is the biggest reason why Iowa basketball got back to the Elite Eight last season. New head coach Ben McCollum utilized it well, bringing in highly-skilled additions like Bennett Stirtz, Alvaro Folguerias, and Tavion Banks to the program. All three of those guys, along with other transfers, helped the Hawkeyes soar to new heights in March.
Now that those three players have departed Iowa City, it's time for McCollum to reload. He's going right back to the transfer portal to do just that. According to numerous reports, the Hawkeyes are in the mix for a horde of talented players in the portal.
Chief among that group is a talented guard with three years of eligibility remaining: Washington State transfer guard Ace Glass. Drew Scharnowski, Sananda Fru, Andrew McKeever, and Ace Glass are the main ones I’ve heard in the mix for Iowa 📈 https://t. co/Nz50NeRjhY — NCAA Recruiting Center 🌐 (@PortalPredict) April 12, 2026 Glass burst onto the scene as a freshman with the Cougars last season, averaging 16.
