Updated SEC baseball standings after No. 1 goes down
The No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs suffered their first SEC series loss of the season, but the Bulldogs still have the SEC's top record
The Georgia Bulldogs remain the top team in the SEC despite dropping their first series of the season. Georgia fell at home, two games to one against the Florida Gators . Georgia allowed Florida to score 21 total runs across the Bulldogs' two losses to the Gators.
"We struggled today on the mound and getting big hits when we had the opportunities," Georgia baseball manager Wes Johnson said after the Bulldogs lost to Florida 13-7 on Sunday. Texas and Texas A&M's final game of their series was cancelled due to inclement weather. Texas A&M won the first two games of the series between two of the SEC's best.
South Carolina swept Missouri on the road in a battle of two of the SEC's worst teams. Oklahoma notched a big road series win at Vanderbilt with a 6-5 win on Saturday. Tennessee handed Mississippi State a second consecutive SEC sweep.
Ole Miss surged up the standings after sweeping LSU at home. The Arkansas Razorbacks earned a road sweep against Alabama in a big boost for the Razorbacks. Auburn got a 2-1 series win over Kentucky with a shutout victory on Sunday.
