The Florida High School Athletic Association opens tennis district tournaments April 13 across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Schedules are as listed by the FHSAA and are subject to change. The top two teams from each district tournament advance to the regionals, which are scheduled for April 21 and 23.
District 1-4A At Atlantic Coast (boys), Oakleaf (girls) Teams : Atlantic Coast, Creekside, First Coast, Fletcher, Mandarin, Oakleaf, Sandalwood, Tocoi Creek. Dates : April 13-14. First match: 8 a.
m. Finals : 8 a. m.
Outlook : A Tristan Straw-led Tocoi Creek team enters as a slight favorite on the boys side, but it's competitive: Atlantic Coast, Mandarin and Fletcher all aim to represent the Gateway Conference in the regionals, and Oakleaf could get there as well. Creekside, which has a strong top three of Caroline Cooper, Claire Mitchell and Brooke Mitchell, looks like a solid girls contender, with Fletcher and Oakleaf as the main obstacles between the Knights and top spot. District 2-3A At Tom Brown Park, Tallahassee Teams : Columbia, Lynn Haven Mosley, Panama City Beach Arnold, Tallahassee Chiles, Tallahassee Leon, Tallahassee Lincoln.
