Goalkeeper: Moritz Nicolas, Borussia Mönchengladbach The Gladbach goalkeeper made a total of 11 saves, including several stunning reflex stops, but was ultimately unable to prevent his side from falling to a 1-0 defeat against RB Leipzig. Defenders: Konrad Laimer, FC Bayern A typically energetic performance from Laimer, who won four duels, completed 89 percent of his passes and provided an assist.
Robert Andrich, Leverkusen A solid performance from the Leverkusen captain, who scored a superb long-range effort, was defensively reliable and completed 88 percent of his passes. Jeff Chabot, Stuttgart Rock-solid at the back in Stuttgart’s 4–0 win over Hamburger SV, Chabot won an impressive 11 duels. He was also secure in possession, completing 92 percent of his passes.
Maximilian Mittelstädt, Stuttgart Another key performer in Stuttgart’s win over HSV, Mittelstädt won eight duels and also got on the scoresheet. Midfielders: Leon Goretzka, FC Bayern An impressive performance from Bayern’s midfield engine, who completed 90 percent of his passes, won three duels and racked up a goal and an assist in his side’s 5-0 thrashing of FC St. Pauli.
Angelo Stiller, Stuttgart Dictating play in midfield for Stuttgart, Stiller also got on the scoresheet in his side’s dominant win over HSV. Yan Diomande, RB Leipzig A constant threat in Leipzig’s 1-0 win over Gladbach, Diomande completed eight (! ) dribbles and scored the late winner.
Jamal Musiala, FC Bayern Not everything came off for Musiala against St. Pauli, but he kept trying, completing three dribbles and making three key passes. He scored Bayern’s opener and later added an assist.
