Doncaster Rovers Fans Verdict: Teetering Into Toxicity
The atmosphere among the fans teetered into unchartered territory after another abysmal afternoon.
You can probably count on one hand the number of genuinely good afternoons out we’ve had watching Reading this season. But Saturday was definitely a new low. It was so bad it was almost funny.
The emotions in the away end started with impatience, moved through to frustration, then all-out anger and ended in open mockery. I usually try and sort the reaction of the fans into two or three distinct sections for this, but the Reading FC hashtag was more of a melting pot than it ever has been on Saturday evening, so I’ve tried my best… Leam Richardson I’m still 99% sure Richardson will be in charge come August, but he is currently showing very little evidence that he deserves that privilege. There’s not really a huge amount here I can or even want to say, you just have to read the tweets below.
Essentially, it’s a long, long way back for Leam when it comes to the fans now… I refuse to watch another game until Leam Richardson is gone #readingfc — Max (@_MaxMortimer) April 11, 2026 Couhig & co need to be ballsy and get rid of Richardson. Playoffs were the target and he's failed to get us there. Moreover, fans are losing interest and attendances will keep on dropping.
They will never grow the club with him around #readingfc — Ben (@BenParsons89) April 11, 2026 Leam Richardson. @RCouhig #readingfc pic. twitter.
