(Photo by Oscar DEL POZO / AFP via Getty Images) | AFP via Getty Images Bayern Munich chief executive officer Jan-Christian Dreesen condemned treatment of the club’s fans, who traveled to Spain for the team’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ): CEO Dreesen expressed his outrage at the “disproportionate actions of the Spanish police against our fans” This action against our peaceful fans is unacceptable. Such police behavior has become almost the norm at away games in Europe.

” Video of some of the incident is available here or here . Traveling to away games — on any continent — can always be a risky proposition. Heck, even just venturing into new areas these days can be an issue (just ask those Uber Eats robots ), but not every big game has to turn into an international incident for fans and local authorities.

Hopefully, any mistreatment that occurred is just a blip on the radar for this season. Sadly, we know if will likely get worse soon enough.
