Fond du Lac’s Donte Johnson takes undefeated UFC rise to Las Vegas
(WFRV) – Fond du Lac native Donte Johnson is taking the next step in his UFC journey, saying goodbye to his hometown this week as he relocates to Las Vegas to be closer to its headquarters. The 2017 Fond du Lac High School graduate earned a UFC contract from President and CEO Dana White on the Contender Series last summer. Since then, Johnson has surged to a perfect 8-0 record, quickly emerging as one of the sport’s fastest-rising stars and becoming the first fighter to compete on a national CBS broadcast in March.
Friends and family gathered at Fond du Lac Beer Company on Friday night to send Johnson off as he begins a new chapter aimed at elevating his career even further. Local 5 Sports’ Kyle Malzhan caught up with Johnson to reflect on his rapid rise and what lies ahead. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
