Portland Fire bolster frontcourt with signing of 7-year WNBA veteran Megan Gustafson
AP Photo/LM Otero The Portland Fire announced Sunday the signing of center Megan Gustafson, a 2025 WNBA champion who brings seven seasons of professional experience to the roster. Gustafson, 28, will wear No. 17 for Portland, the team said in a news release.
The 6-foot-4 center most recently played for the Las Vegas Aces during the 2025 season, appearing in 20 games with one start and averaging 3. 0 points and 1. 8 rebounds in 11.
3 minutes per game. Over her WNBA career, which has included stints with Dallas, Washington, Phoenix and Las Vegas, Gustafson has appeared in 171 games and averaged 4. 2 points and 2.
4 rebounds per game while shooting 50. 1 percent from the field and 35. 6 percent from 3-point range, according to the team.

As a senior in 2018-19, she earned Naismith Player of the Year, Associated Press Player of the Year and Big Ten Player of the Year honors, among other awards. She finished her career at Iowa as the program's all-time leading rebounder with 1,460 rebounds and ranks among the top scorers in program history with 2,804 points, according to Portland Fire.
