The Milwaukee Bucks and head coach Doc Rivers are parting ways, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Rivers coached the Bucks for three seasons, finishing with a record of 97-102, including a tough 32-50 this year. One key reason for the Bucks' struggles this season was the absence of star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who only played in 36 games due to injuries and the team's decision to rest him.
Rivers hasn’t had the best run in the last decade of coaching, especially with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers before he took over the Bucks job. However, he did manage to win an NBA title with the Boston Celtics during the 2007-08 season. There’s a strong possibility this could be Rivers' last NBA head-coaching job, as he will turn 65 at the end of this year.
Rivers may be going through a tough time at the moment, but he remains one of the best coaches in the game of basketball. He will be recognized for his achievements, as he was recently named to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026 in early April.
