Toronto turned it around quick.
Blue Jays cut LHP, but they signed him back 3 days later originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . The Toronto Blue Jays parted ways with a left-handed pitcher earlier in the week.
Now, he's already back with the organization. Confused? Here's what happened.
Earlier in the week, the Blue Jays designated lefty Josh Fleming for assignment. That removed him from assignment and put him on waivers. Fleming cleared waivers, but as a veteran, he could elect free agency, and he did so.
No one else signed him as a free agent, though, and so Fleming signed back with the Blue Jays. He was with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday and threw five scoreless innings. Josh Fleming has, indeed, returned to the #BlueJays org on a minor-league deal.
