Washington Huskies set official visit with high upside in-state TE
The Washington Huskies have locked in an official visit with the top in-state tight end in the 2027 class.
The Washington Huskies are on the hunt for a tight end in the 2027 class, and have locked in an official visit with a promising local prospect in three-star Zach Albright. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound in-state product of Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish is set to take his official visit to Montlake on June 5, after being spotted on campus for several unofficial visits over the course of his high school career, including most recently for Junior Day in early March. Ranked as the No.
474 overall recruit and No. 30 tight end by the 247Sports Composite, Albright is a coveted prospect by some top programs around the country, but Jedd Fisch and tight ends coach Jordan Paopao appear to have a significant lead in the race for his commitment. Albright holds nine offers, with California, Michigan, Texas A&M, Utah, and Wisconsin among the other interested parties, but the Huskies are the only program that has lined up an official visit with him thus far.
On film, Albright displays immense upside as an athlete and a pass catcher that Fisch can move all around the formation in his offense. At the high school level, where he's also a standout basketball player, most of his production comes lined up out wide, where he thrives in contested catch scenarios against smaller players and with the ball in his hands after the catch, thanks to his superior athleticism. At the college level, he looks like a longer-term developmental addition, as he needs to add weight to his frame and learn some of the intricacies of blocking at the next level, but the Huskies have built a room where Albright would have time to progress.
Decker DeGraaf would be in his senior season, while Paopao has high expectations for Baron Naone and Kekua Aumua as in-line blockers. Albright is the tenth prospect to set up his visit for June 5, and he'll be the third in-state player on campus that weekend, alongside four-star wide receiver commit Braylon Pope and four-star defensive tackle Tevita Nonu as Fisch continues to look to add to what is currently rated as the nation's No. 5 class by 247Sports.
