The 46-year-old Spaniard received a code-of-conduct warning for smashing his driver in the ground on the second tee, then smashing a water cooler for good measure. In a bizarre turn of events, he was then seen carrying Jon Rahm’s golf bag down the fairway as his caddie raked a bunker.
This was the latest in a long series of conduct incidents for Garcia, who has earned a reputation for being a volatile player over a number of years. And after the round, his playing partner Rahm said what playing with the 2017 Masters winner was like. Rahm answered,”I don’t know. It may be. I’m not sure.
I don’t remember who I play with or who I don’t all the time especially if we’re playing badly. “But, it was good. Obviously he hasn’t been swinging it the way he would like.
