Starters Hooks and Magalhães enter transfer portal
Roster turnover continued for the University of New Mexico women's basketball team Saturday as All-Mountain West guard Destinee Hooks entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3. com . Hooks, who averaged a team-leading 13.
4 points per game as a junior last season, became the fifth UNM player to enter the portal during the week. Guard Joana Magalhães, who averaged 8. 7 points and recorded 51 assists and 49 steals as a sophomore last season, entered Friday.
Posts Jessie Joaquim and Emma Najjuma entered the transfer portal earlier in the week along with guard Tyler Jones. Three players, guards Laila Abdurraqib, Kaia Foster and Drew Jordon, announced they will return next season under new coach Amy Eagan. UNM also signed transfer guard Valerie Norwood, who played for Eagan at Lindenwood last season.
