Pat Kelsey has landed a Louisville basketball transfer portal commitment from former Oregon Ducks point guard Jackson Shelstad. Here's what to know.

Pat Kelsey is adding a former Big Ten point guard to his Louisville basketball backcourt for 2026-27. Jackson Shelstad , who spent the past three seasons at Oregon, committed to the Cardinals by way of the NCAA transfer portal on Sunday with a post to Instagram . Shelstad, a 6-foot-1 native of West Linn, Oregon, visited UofL's campus this weekend alongside ex-Kansas big man Flory Bidunga .

Bidunga joined Shelstad in committing to Kelsey & Co. on Sunday, according to a report from ESPN's Pete Thamel . Shelstad appeared in only 12 games between Nov.

7 and Dec. 28 for the Ducks as a junior. He broke his right hand during a practice roughly a month before the season tipped off and reinjured it in late December.

Coach Dana Altman later revealed Shelstad had sustained ligament damage and would likely be shut down for the remainder of the campaign — pushing for him to receive a medical redshirt despite appearing in more than 30% of Oregon's games. "He's a couple games over (the medical redshirt threshold), but definitely: We'll try to get him another year," Altman told reporters in late February. When Shelstad played, he looked like he had taken another step forward after earning third-team All-Big Ten status as a sophomore.
