Boston clinched a playoff berth with the Detroit Red Wings losing to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. With the Bruins getting back to the playoffs, forward Casey Mittelstadt likes the way the team is built and believes they can go on a deep run. “I think based on what people were saying about us at the beginning of the year, it’s been a pretty good year for us,” Mittelstadt said, via the team website.
“From the beginning, though, I don’t think we really believed what they were saying. “We thought we had a good team, and obviously we have good leaders and really good goaltending. We like the way we are built.
” Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman, meanwhile, believes Boston has a special locker room and group, which has led to them having success and returning to the playoffs. “We have a special locker room that we’re able to translate on the ice – coming in with the right attitude and translating it on the ice the entire season,” Swayman said. “We weren’t listening to anyone else but ourselves in this locker room.
