Sophie Cunningham returns to Indiana Fever on one-year contract
The Fever re-signed Sophie Cunningham to a one-year deal, maintaining continuity as Indiana continues to build around its core.

Cunningham tore the MCL in her right knee during a game against the Connecticut Sun in August, which ended her 2025 season.
The 28-year-old had surgery and has said on her "Show Me Something" podcast she is healthy and ready to go. The Fever also signed Kelsey Mitchell to a one-year deal. It makes sense given both guard Caitlin Clark and center Aliyah Boston will be eligible for big bumps next season and it will be challenging to fit all of their talent under the cap.
Lexie Hull also returns and Monique Billings and Ty Harris have been added in free agency. Cunningham started 13 games for the Fever after coming over from the Phoenix Mercury, where she spent her first six seasons after being drafted No. 13 overall in 2019 out of Missouri.
