With the famous one in golf being awarded later today, what piece of clothing is most hallowed in UNC sports?

In addition to a trophy, money, and the prestige that comes with winning a major golf tournament, Masters’ champions also famously get something else.

After the tournament, the winning golfer is given and proudly dons the famous “Green Jacket. ” Members of the exclusive Augusta National get jackets to signify their membership of the club, and Masters’ winners get to join that group. The Green Jacket is arguably the most famous piece of clothing in sports, and most pro golfers — and frankly even people that play recreationally — would kill to win one.

With that in mind, here is what I’m wondering for today’s question of the day. What is UNC’s version of the Green Jacket? What Tar Heel-related piece of clothing would you most like to have or is the most important relic in the school’s sporting history?

One way to go with this might be one specific game-worn jersey. Both for what he did in the game and the legacy he carved out beyond his college career, I might tend to say Michael Jordan’s jersey from the 1982 national championship game. UNC has had a ton of sporting success — both in men’s basketball and otherwise — but you can argue that game is the school’s most famous triumph.
