Rich Beem names the player who could sneakily win The Masters ahead of Rory McIlroy on Sunday
Photo by David Cannon/Getty Images Rory McIlroy still has a great chance to win his second consecutive Masters title on Sunday, but he has his work cut out now after his poor round on day three at Augusta National. McIlroy won the 2025 Masters in dramatic fashion after defeating Justin Rose in a sudden-death playoff on the 18th hole. And the 36-year-old seemed to be cruising to his second green jacket after 36 holes of The Masters this year.
However, McIlroy never got going on Saturday at The Masters as his poor driving finally caught up with him at Augusta National . McIlroy has vowed to play aggressively on Sunday at The Masters , due to the freedom he now has after winning at Augusta last year. If McIlroy is to win his second green jacket, it certainly wonโt be easy. That said, the 36-year-old Northern Irishman never makes things easy, does he? One thingโs for sure; if he slips up at all on Sunday, he will not win the 90th edition of The Masters.
Rich Beem says who could win The Masters ahead of Rory McIlroy 2002 PGA Championship winner Rich Beem has been working for UK broadcaster Sky Sports at Augusta this week. Beem has full faith in McIlroy ahead of the final round at The Masters on Sunday. However, if the five-time major champion fails to get the job done, who could sneak in and pip him to the trophy?
โ If Rory does not get it done, I have a sneaky suspicion for Shane Lowry, โ Beem said. The Americanโs co-commentator, Andrew Coltart, then suggested that Rose could be the last man standing at Augusta National. Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty Images โ I am going to go Rose, โ the Scot exclaimed.
