After seven months out, Holger Rune reveals single-minded goal for tournament comeback

The Dane is scheduled to feature at the Hamburg Open, which runs from 17th to 23rd May. He remained positive throughout his rehab and moved quickly to get back into training following the injury.
Speaking before his comeback, Rune talked about what he’s hoping to achieve in his first season back. He’s been ranked as high as world number four, but Rune isn’t expecting an immediate return to those heights.
Instead, he’s focused on getting fully fit again. “It’s been a long process so far,” he said. “And we’re obviously following very strictly what the people I did the rehab with are saying, and my strength in my Achilles is very, very good.
” “I just can’t wait to be back playing soon. I really missed it. Now, watching a lot of tennis, it’s creeping in me that I want to get back.
” The 21-year-old isn’t putting any pressure on himself to rush up the rankings straight away. Instead, he just wants to build match fitness and get his game back up to where it was before his injury. “We haven’t put, like, a ranking goal or anything yet.
