The Kansas City Chiefs recently received special news regarding a former staff member being honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Mike Davidson spent 22 years in Kansas City's equipment department until 2011. He later became one of the franchise's historians, continuing his contribution with today's team.
In honor of his time in the NFL, Davidson was named a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's 'Awards of Excellence' class. The league recognizes him as a significant behind-the-scenes contributor alongside longtime Green Bay Packers equipment managers Red Batty and Jack Noel. Davidson began his NFL career in 1984, joining the Cleveland Browns as a member of the team's equipment staff and spending five years with the franchise before joining the Kansas City Chiefs in 1989. He joined head coach Marty Schottenheimer in the transition, becoming the new leader of the Chiefs' equipment department. During his illustrious career, Davidson has worked with 23 Pro Football Hall of Famers.
