Powered by a grand slam from Alexis DeBoer, the Washington Huskies earned a 7-2 win over Minnesota on Saturday.

Another day, another win in Big Ten play for coach Heather Tarr and the Washington Huskies after a 7-2 defeat of the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday afternoon. After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning on a solo home run off the bat of Sydney Schwartz, sophomore star Alexis DeBoer stepped to the plate in with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the frame and launched her team-leading 15th home run of the season for a grand slam. From that point on, the Huskies never trailed.

DeBoer went 2-for-2 on the day with the 4 runs batted in and a pair of walks, as the Huskies strung together 11 hits in the contest. Two of those came off the bat of freshman Kaycie Burdick, who scored a pair of runs and drove in another with an RBI single in the fourth inning, while her classmate, Marley Teasley, reached base three times, going 2-for-2 plus a hit by pitch.
