USC general manager Chad Bowden makes a splash at Swim With Mike event
When he is not dominating on the recruiting trail, USC’s general manager is not afraid to have a little fun, as we saw on Saturday
Despite spring practice being in the books, Saturday was a busy day for the USC football team. In the morning, players attended a fan appreciation event where fans had the opportunity to take photographs and receive autographs from members of the team. Following the event, the players headed over to the Uytengsu Aquatics Center for USC’s annual Swim With Mike event.
The event, which has been held since 1981, is a fundraiser to help provide college scholarships for athletes with physical disabilities. In addition to many of the Trojans ’ players, in attendance at Swim With Mike was USC general manager Chad Bowden. Bowden took the crowd by storm by jumping off of the high dive platform into the pool while fully clothed.
Since his arrival at USC last year, Bowden has been making figurative splashes on the recruiting trail—helping the Trojans land the No. 1 recruiting class in the 2026 cycle and putting together another loaded group for 2027 . This weekend, he made a different type of splash—a literal one in the pool, that is.
With USC’s spring practice now wrapped up, Bowden will likely be out in the recruiting trail a lot over the next few weeks. It would not be stunning if we get several more big splashes during that time—although maybe not the literal type.
