Maliq Brown has been one of the best-loved players in Duke Basketball history. Why is that? Partly it’s because he’s just such a smart player.
As the Duke Chronicle notes in its latest profile, Brown doesn’t have a huge statistical profile. But as Caleb Foster notes here, “[I]t’s almost like a different game [Maliq] plays. I’ve never played with somebody with such an impact on the team.
” That’s really the essence of Brown’s game. He sees things that others don’t. He’s not the most talented player on the team.
