Report: Chelsea interested in £60m rated Enzo Fernandez replacement, but there’s one problem Chelsea are one of several Premier League clubs interested in signing Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes according to reports in Brazil. ON THE APP STORE Having had a quiet January, it’s believed the Blues will be busy this summer as they set about trying to strengthen the squad.
Chelsea are said to still be in the market for a centre back, whilst it’s thought they want to add another midfielder and attacker. Chelsea interested in Wolves star Joao Gomes Midfield is believed to be a priority this summer with Chelsea said to want to ease the burden on both Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez. However, with major doubts over the future of Fernandez, the Blues may well face the task of having to replace the World Cup winner.
Chelsea are thought to be closing in on a deal for Strasbourg midfielder Valentin Barco, and now Brazilian outlet RTI have reported they’re interest in Gomes. The report states Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all in the race, with Wolves thought to want £60m, but they could be flexible on that price. RTI add Gomes favours a move to Liverpool, whilst the Blues view him as potential replacement for Fernandez were a move to Real Madrid materialise.
Gomes is under contract until 2028, and with Wolves all but relegated he’s expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
