Scouting Future Saints: Arkansas Razorbacks RB Mike Washington
Explosive Arkansas back Mike Washington has a combination of power and speed that might be tempting for the Saints if available on Day 2 of the draft.
Running back is a position that will have a new look for the New Orleans Saints in 2026 after the signing of Travis Etienne early into free agency. Veteran Alvin Kamara will still have a place in the offense, but Etienne will be the team's feature back. The Saints may not be done at the position either, possibly adding another weapon from a deep position in the 2026 NFL Draft.
One name to watch is Mike Washington, an explosive back from the Arkansas Razorbacks rising fast up the draft boards. Signing Etienne likely means that the Saints won't draft a back in the first round and significantly reduces the chance that they use a Day 2 pick on one. With Kamara turning 31 this offseason and entering his 10th year, however, New Orleans could be tempted to add another playmaker to their backfield.
Washington, rocketing up draft boards, could offer such temptation. Mike Washington bio Position: Running back College: Arkansas Razorbacks Height: 6-feet, 1 inch Weight: 223 pounds 40-yard dash: 4. 33 seconds 10-yard split: 1.
