Hudson boys volleyball team dominates Kent Roosevelt in 3-0 win
Hudson's boys volleyball team secured a dominant 3-0 home victory over Kent Roosevelt, with senior Sam Disney sparking win.
Behind strong efforts from the entire roster, Hudsonโs boysโ volleyball squad captured a recent home victory with impressive ease. Senior Sam Disney sparked the Explorers in a 3-0 home victory over Kent Roosevelt on April 1. Hudson won 25-10, 25-8, and 25-20 in the action.
With the victory, the Explorers moved to 5-0 overall this season, but more importantly, Hudson is developing roster depth. Disney collected a team-high six kills, eight digs, 11 receptions, and had two serving aces. Tim Dowling also played well as the senior had four kills, two aces, and six receptions.
Fisher Zappone had five kills as the senior played in one set. Another senior, Owen Tandy, added three aces, two kills, and four digs for the Explorers, who used a host of athletes in the victory. Sophomore John Neill contributed six digs, seven receptions, and an ace.
The ballhandling numbers for Hudson included 11 assists by junior Jackson Battaglia, eight feeds by junior Justin Brown, and seven assists by freshman Calvin Waller. In upcoming action against two rivals, the Explorers travel to Walsh Jesuit on April 14 and hosts Stow-Munroe Falls on April 15. Division I Hudson is also slated to play three games and compete at the Mount Vernon Quad Tournament on April 18.
