Nebraska baseball (26-8, 11-2) faced off against No. 21 Oregon (25-9, 9-4) in the first of three games on Friday night. The Ducks won the first top-25 clash, holding off the Huskers 7-6.

Nebraska fell behind 7-2 to Oregon after tying the game in the top of the fifth. The Ducks scored all of their runs in the middle third, scoring multiple times in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, even with a weather delay pausing play for nearly two hours. The Huskers put together a strong eighth inning, scoring four runs to cut the lead to one.

But despite putting the tying run at third in the ninth, Nebraska finished just short of a comeback. The Huskers tallied 10 hits on the night but suffered 16 total strikeouts and left eight runners on base. The Ducks posted nine hits and earned seven walks for seven RBIs.

Oregon also beat Nebraska in home runs, 3-2. Dylan Carey batted 3-for-4 on the night for three RBIs. He scored the first run of the game with a single in the first before blasting a two-run shot in the eighth.
