Savanah Bananas meet up with Lowcountry fans

CHARLESTON, S. C. (WCBD) – Banana Ball wrapped up action in Charleston on Saturday night, but not before some players met up with some local fans at Dunkin’ Donuts.

What began as a college summer league team in Savanah, GA, banana ball has grown and is now bringing excitement to the Charleston area. Back-to-back sold-out games were evidence of the energy brought to Joseph P. Riley Jr.

Park in downtown Charleston. The energy spilled over to Dunkin’ Donuts, where several players held a meet and greet with fans. “What we’re trying to do across America is spread joy and positivity by putting on a great show of banana ball,” knuckleball pitcher Fisher Polydoroff said.

“It’s the fast-paced, entertaining variety of baseball, and we go around spreading love, and that’s exactly what we’re doing here at Dunkin’ Donuts. We’ve met so many cool fans. ” Players at today’s event say it’s a uinque experience to interact with communities they visit all across the country.

They took the time this morning to serve customers, give autographs and take pictures. The Savannah Bananas wrapped up their final game Saturday night, and will next head to Chapel Hill, NC. Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
