Reyes is No. 9 at 205 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Walker sits at the edge of the charts at No. 15.
It was a disappointing end to 2025 for Reyes (15-5), who had a resurgent three-fight win streak following four consecutive losses that threatened to send his UFC career off the rails. Knockout wins over Nikita Krylov, Anthony Smith, and Dustin Jacoby put Reyes on the cusp of another title shot, but he was left laying on the ground by Carlos Ulberg at UFC Perth. Should Reyes score a highlight win over Johnny Walker, his comeback story might not be over just yet.
Walker (22-9, 1 NC) knows a thing or two about hanging around the championship picture. Once considered a legitimate threat to challenge for a title, Walker has delivered uneven results over the past few years. He remains one of the light heavyweight division’s most dangerous finishers, as evidenced by his recent win over Zhang Mingyang, and can keep his peers on their toes if he beats Reyes.
