The recent developments occurred a week after Hampton visited Ann Arbor for spring camp practice and walked away with an offer.

“I love everything that Michigan is about,” Hampton said at Battle 7v7 Nationals in Nashville. “Dream school growing up. Always loved Michigan.

” The facilities, campus, coaches and culture all stood out to Hampton on the trip. The interactions between the staff and players also caught his eye. Same goes for how Jordan Marshall, Savion Hiter and the rest of the running backs carry themselves on and off the field.

Hampton is fond of run game coordinator and running backs coach Tony Alford’s approach to treating his players. Alford has told Hampton he likes the in-stater’s explosiveness and ability to make defenders miss in the open field. The official visit will Hampton further opportunities to speak with head coach Kyle Whittingham.
