" Scottie Scheffler sure was moving -- right up the leaderboard. Scheffler made the cut at Augusta National at a tame even-par. Then on Saturday, he fired a 7-under 65.
Scheffler was one shot off the course record on the front nine, going out with a 31. He eagled the par-5 2nd, then got birdie 3, 4, 3 on holes 7, 8 and 9. Scheffler will have to repeat this kind of round to have any chance on Sunday, but would anyone bet against it?
It's been a weird year for Scheffler, who after a hot start began to play these multi-sided tournaments. He'd go out slow, barely make the cut, and then fire off a couple big rounds on the weekend. That doesn't always give him enough time to catch up.
