Breaking down Florida football's top performances from the Orange and Blue game

Several of Florida's transfer players had some of the most notable performances in the Gators' spring game.

There was no shortage of big plays by Florida football during the Gators’ Orange and Blue game. Although the day ended in a tie between the offense and defense, the first spring game under head coach Jon Sumrall featured eight plays that gained 20 or more yards, along with three turnovers. “The defense started, fast offense finished the half strong, certain guys flashed,” Florida coach Jon Sumrall said.

“Just moving a lot of pieces around secondary and the O-line is the reason for the format. But I think we got a lot better this spring. We have a long way to go, but we are pleased with the work we got today.

” Here’s a breakdown of some of the more memorable performances. Wide receiver Micah Mays Jr. The game’s MVP was arguably Wake Forest transfer Micah Mays Jr.

The receiver showed off his big play ability as he hauled in a pair of touchdowns from both of Florida’s potential starting quarterbacks. Mays’ first touchdown was one of the most impressive as he became wide open on a deep route and scored on a 75-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. “It was a great ball by Tramell,” Mays said.
