Christian Charisius/dpa Bayern Munich have set a Bundesliga scoring record with a 102nd goal of the season in the match at St Pauli, bettering their own mark from 54 years ago.

League leaders Bayern started the match with 100 goals, equalled their 101 goals from the 1971-72 season through Jamal Musiala's header in the ninth minute and bettered the mark to 102 when Leon Goretzka, who will leave in summer, fired home for 2-0 in the 53rd minute. The final tally at the end of the season is expected to be even higher as the St Pauli game was in progress and five more matches to follow. Bayern have scored 42 goals more than the second best team, Borussia Dortmund, who have 60.

They already came close to the long-standing record in 2019-20 when they finished with 100 goals and reached 99 in 2020-21.
