D-Backs’ Brandon Pfaadt uses cleats as part of gender reveal announcement for his brother
Brett Pfaadt and his partner Hannah were watching back in Kentucky.
Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Pfaadt decided to make a bit of a change to his look for Saturday’s start against the Philadelphia Phillies . It didn’t have anything to do with superstition or a change for change’s sake to break out of a slump. Instead, the Diamondbacks right-hander used new laces for his cleats as part of a gender reveal for his brother Brett and his partner, Hannah.
Pfaadt’s Adidas cleats featured pink laces on Saturday, an idea he came up with along with his brother to inform Hannah, who was watching in Kentucky, that they are expecting a baby girl. Brandon Pfaadt wore pink laces on his cleats to help with his brother's gender reveal 💖 pic. twitter.

Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla were expecting their fourth child. The Harpers got Trea Turner in contact with the couple’s doctor, who then informed Turner of the child’s gender.
Harper had two bats custom-made for the occasion at the ballpark that day: one blue and one pink. Before Harper’s first at-bat that evening, Turner went over to his teammate and handed him the blue bat , signifying another son was on the way. Harper struck out in that at-bat, the only one where he used that blue bat.
