UCLA baseball pitcher has record-tying performance against Rutgers
Junior right-handed pitcher Logan Reddemann threw 18 strikeouts in UCLA's win against Rutgers to tie the single-game strikeout record.
UCLA's junior right-handed pitcher Logan Reddemann had 18 strikeouts in the Rutgers series opener on Friday, which tied the Bruins single-game strikeout record. Reddemann pitched eight innings in the 14 inning slugfest and gave up just two hits, a walk and a run, which helped the Bruins eventually take the game 4-1. UCLA's veteran pitcher tied Rob Henkel's record that was set in 2000 against Washington, according to UCLA Athletics.

Before Reddemann's game against Rutgers, the most innings he pitched in a single game was 6. 1 against Iowa on March 27, where he put up five strikeouts. He's currently struck out 79 batters this season with 10 strikeout performances in the series openers against TCU and Ohio State.
