Union's Güther becomes second youngest player in Bundesliga history

Soeren Stache/dpa Winger Linus Güther became the second youngest player in Bundesliga history when he came on as a late substitute for Union Berlin at Heidenheim at 16 years and three days on Saturday. German under-16 international Güther came on in the 84th minute for Alex Kral in the game Heidenheim won 3-1.
Güther, who turned 16 on Wednesday, is an Union academy player. Only Youssoufa Moukoko was younger when he made his Bundesliga debut the day after his 16th birthday for Borussia Dortmund in 2020. ‘We know we have a great talent in our ranks.
There are footballers who are hard to stop. If he stays fit, keeps his head clear and loves the game as much as he has done so far, he can have a great career," Union coach Steffen Baumgart said before the match.
