For many players, the NFL offseason is an opportunity to rest and recover -- and for some, it's a time to get better. New Orleans Saints right tackle Taliese Fuaga joined his teammates at offseason workouts led by the great Terron Armstead , who previously worked with left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. and right guard Cesar Ruiz.
Armstead earned All-Pro recognition with the Saints back in 2018 and was selected for five Pro Bowls during his time with the Saints and Miami Dolphins. From Armstead's perspective, he's just paying it forward after Willie Roaf took him under his wing as a young pro. One of the first Saints players inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Roaf shared his knowledge with Armstead back in the day, and now Armstead is passing it on to the next generation .
Fuaga has been asked to handle a lot of different responsibilities early in his Saints career. Drafted as a right tackle at Oregon State, he was moved to the left side in his rookie year before the team picked Banks last season, which moved him back to his college position. He's also taken some snaps inside at guard and could end up there full-time if the Saints have someone else in mind to bookend the offensive line with Banks.
But if he can stay healthy and keep performing at a high level, he'll continue to anchor the right side of the line for years to come. #TheSet pic. twitter.
