UNC basketball commit makes decision on future

Yahoo Sports

UNC basketball four-star forward Maximo Adams will remain committed to the program.

North Carolina's roster situation is far from complete for the 2026-27 basketball season. With the hiring of Michael Malone as the next head coach, plenty of players have entered the transfer portal to test the waters. There's also the Tar Heels' recruiting class, headlined by commits Maximo Adams and Dylan Mingo.

While they would be big additions to the roster, a new coach could make them reconsider. However, one of those recruits has already made his decision. On Saturday, Adams told ESPN's Paul Biancardi that he is NOT decommitting and will remain a Tar Heel despite the coaching change.

Adams told ESPN that UNC is his dream school. “I’ve always wanted to play for the Tar Heels,” Adams told ESPN. “It was my dream school growing up, and I’m excited to be coached by Coach Malone.
