Cowboys safety Markquese Bell arrested on felony and misdemeanor drug charges in suburban Dallas

Dallas Cowboys safety Markquese Bell was arrested on two drug charges Friday night, according to records from t he Collin County Sheriff’s Office . Bell, 27, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and marijuana. He was arrested in Prosper, Texas, a suburb located approximately 40 miles outside Dallas.
According to authorities, Bell was still in jail as of Saturday morning, the Dallas Morning News reports . Possession of a controlled substance carries a felony charge, while possession of marijuana is a misdemeanor. The Cowboys did not comment to multiple reporters regarding Bell’s arrest.
The fourth-year safety would be in violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy Bell signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M in 2022. Prior to last season, the Cowboys signed him to a three-year contract extension worth up to $12 million. He went on to appear in 17 games (starting three), tallying one interception and one forced fumble with three passes defended, 41 total tackles and one tackle for loss.
