UNC basketball captain accepts invitation to senior tournament
Seth Trimble played an integral role at UNC during his senior season. The Tar Heels' captain now has a chance to impress NBA scouts.
There's few people you'll find who breathe UNC basketball more than Seth Trimble , who chose to play in Chapel Hill all four years of his collegiate basketball career. Trimble, who began his time as a Tar Heel playing sparingly off the bench, progressively grew into a reliable starter. Trimble earned North Carolina's "captain" moniker during its 2025-26 campaign, delivering his signature moment with a near-buzzer beater to upset archrival Duke in February.
Hoping to continue his basketball career in the NBA, Trimble recently accepted an invitation to play in the Portsmouth (Va. ) Invitational Tournament. This tournament invites 64 senior college basketball players, from across the country, to compete in front of professional scouts.
Over four days, eight teams of eight players will participate in a 12-game tournament. This year's edition begins on Wednesday, April 15 at 6 p. m.
and concludes on Saturday, April 18 after the 7 p. m. Championship match is played.
