Broncos are 'going to be looking' at running backs during and after draft
"We are going to be looking in the draft, and we are going to be looking after the draft," George Paton said of adding running backs.
The Denver Broncos made it a priority to re-sign J. K. Dobbins during NFL free agency, and Dobbins is now set to lead the team's backfield again in 2026, joined by second-year running back RJ Harvey.
Speaking at the NFL's annual league meeting in Arizona last week, Broncos general manager George Paton said he likes the current running back depth, but the team is always looking to add more. Denver holds seven picks in this month's NFL draft, and they will fill out the roster with college free agent signings after the draft. โWe like the backs," Payton said in late March.
"RJ is just going to keep getting better. What did he have, 12 touchdowns? Heโs an explosive player and an explosive receiver out of the backfield.
[Heโs] a matchup problem. He is going to get better as a runner. He got better as the year went on.
