To play at the Masters as a high school teenager is a dream come true, but imagine getting to play with Rory McIlroy for a couple of days and watching greatness up close . That's what life was like at Augusta for Mason Howell, who got to play the 2026 Masters thanks to his win at the 2025 U. S.
Amateur. He's off to Georgia next year, but first, he had some moments with McIlroy, who was so classy to the young golfer. Per The Mirror : "Rory was awesome.
He said, 'I hope to see you down the line. We'll play some practice rounds coming up. ' So I couldn't have been more thankful to be paired with Rory this week, and how much I learned from his game.
" They also shared a laugh after both missing left on their opening shots on Thursday, which sounds incredible.
