Who will be the next UFC light heavyweight champion? That will be answered after the vacant title fight between former champ Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg is over. Their five-round bout takes place Saturday, April 11 at Kaseya Center in Miami.
Prochazka, 33, will enter on a two-fight winning streak after defeating Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr. last year, both of which earned him Performance of the Night bonuses. For Prochazka, this will mark his third attempt to reclaim the 205-pound title he was forced to vacate because of injury.
In his two previous tries, Prochazka came up short to Alex Pereira by TKO, which remain his only two UFC defeats. Since losing his UFC debut in March 2021, Ulberg, 35, has been on a tear, winning nine fights in a row. In his last three, he defeated former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir, former champ Jan Blachowicz, and former title challenger Dominick Reyes by first-round knockout to secure his title shot.
