Cougars notch another walk-off win; Clemson upsets No. 5 North Carolina; Phillips fuels USC victory

Despite a losing record, College of Charleston has been no stranger to late heroics this season, and Friday night was more of the same as the Cougars notched their fifth walk-off victory of the season with Will Tippett drawing a five-pitch walk with the bases loaded in the ninth in a 6-5 win over North Carolina A&T at Patriots Point.

The Aggies led 5-4 before the Cougars (14-19, 6-7 CAA) evened the game in the seventh on Alex LaCoste's sacrifice fly. Sophomore Parker Sweeney picked up his second victory, striking out five Aggies in 22/3 scoreless innings where he allowed just three hits. Tippett was 1 for 3 with a homer, two walks and two RBIs, while Reece Holbrook was 3 for 3 with a double, walk and two RBIs.
