Texas A&M rode a six-run first inning to a 10-6 win over Ole Miss to take Game 1 of the series on the road.

Texas A&M stayed hot in SEC play on Friday night, taking Game 1 on the road at Ole Miss with a 10–6 win for their ninth conference victory of the season. The Aggies continue to strengthen their case for an NCAA regional spot and now sit one game away from securing their fourth SEC series. What initially looked like it might turn into a run‑rule blowout shifted into a more competitive matchup, but A&M’s early patience and timely hitting built a cushion Ole Miss could never erase.

Ole Miss struggled to find the strike zone from the start, and the Aggies immediately took advantage. Kennedy Powell and Tallen Edwards opened the game with singles, and a walk to Mya Perez loaded the bases for Micaela Wark, whose RBI walk produced the first run. Ariel Kowalewski followed with a run‑scoring single, and another walk to Kelsey Mathis pushed two more across, prompting an early bullpen move from the Rebels.

Paislie Allen added a sacrifice fly to score Wark, and Frankie Vrazel capped the six‑run first inning with a two‑RBI triple. In the second, Wark delivered again, launching a three‑run home run to extend the lead to 9–0. Ole Miss responded with four runs across the next three innings to chip away at the deficit before the Aggies added another run when Edwards lifted a sacrifice fly to score Vrazel for a 10–5 lead.

The Rebels added one more run to make it 10–6, but that was as close as they would get. Both teams were held scoreless over the final two innings, and in the seventh, Sidne Peters closed the door by inducing a groundout and striking out the final two batters to secure the win. AGGIES WIN #GigEm pic.
