Runners will take part in a half marathon and a 10k race in Coventry on 19 April.

Coventry Running Festival includes both a half marathon and 10k race [BBC] A popular running event featuring both a half marathon and a 10k race on the same day is returning to Coventry for a second year. Coventry Running Festival, organised by charity Run For All and open to runners of all ages and abilities, will take place in the city on 19 April. Organisers said thousands were expected to take part and the event would help to bring the community together and raise "vital funds" for charities.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, the charity's operations director, said: "We encourage anyone considering taking part to get involved, and we look forward to welcoming all runners and spectators on the day. " When is it happening? Participants will follow a route across the city centre [BBC] Runners participating in the half marathon will set off at 09:00 BST at Cox Street in the city centre, before heading out into the Warwickshire countryside.

The 10k participants will begin at the same place at the slightly later time of 09:30, but will follow a similar route. Organisers said runners would pass several key city landmarks on the day, including The Wave Waterpark and Moseley Avenue Park, before finishing at Coventry Cathedral. Participants who finish the run will also receive a medal to commemorate their achievement.

The festival was expected to raise thousands of pounds for good causes, organisers added. How do I take part? Entries are open for both events on the Run For All website.
