Commanders host national champion receiver on official pre-draft visit
The Washington Commanders continue to stay busy evaluating the draft's top receivers.
The Washington Commanders have met with another prominent wide receiver ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. Whether it was at the Senior Bowl, the 2026 NFL combine, Zoom calls, or pro days, the Commanders have met with most of the top receivers, including Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon and Jordyn Tyson. On Friday, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network revealed that the Commanders hosted Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.
on an official pre-draft visit. The 6-foot-0, 199-pound Cooper is fresh off helping the Indiana Hoosiers win the national championship as projected No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza's No.
1 receiver. Cooper's 13 touchdowns were tied for No. 3 nationally in the FBS.
He finished his final college season leading the Hoosiers with 69 receptions for 937 yards. Former Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. is visiting the Commanders today, per source.
