No. 2 Hawaii stays perfect in Big West play

Louis Sakanoko ended a quick evening for the No. 2-ranked Hawaii men’s volleyball team with his team-high 11th kill in a 25-21, 25-18, 25-21 win over No. 13 UC San Diego tonight at LionTree Arena in La Jolla, Calif.

Sakanoko hit . 381 and Kristian Titriyski, who hit . 368 with 10 kills, led the match offensively for Hawaii (24-23, 7-0 Big West), which won its eighth straight match.

Finn Kearney had four kills in six swings in the third set subbing in for Adrien Roure. The Rainbow Warriors will clinch the No. 1 seed in the Outrigger Big West Men’s Volleyball Championship with their next win or any loss by Long Beach State over its final three matches.

Hawaii hit . 342 for the match against the Tritons (11-12, 2-6) and owned a 9-2 advantage in service aces. The two teams will play again on Saturday at 4 p.
