Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred FC returned on Friday night in the Dominican Republic

Anthony Smith may have found a home in Gamebred Fighting Championships. In his first fight since retiring from UFC competition, Smith faced fellow UFC veteran Chase Sherman in the main event of Friday night’s Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA card in the Dominican Republic. Smith used a precise jab, an insane quickness advantage, and his overall big fight experience to batter and overwhelm Sherman before getting the fight to the mat, and securing a rear-naked choke submission in the first round.

Check out the finish below to cap off the return of Jorge Masvidal’s promotion. Anthony Smith completely dominates Chase Sherman piecing him up on the feet before dumping him on the canvas and taking the RNC. Lionheart didn't look too bad at heavyweight.

Not only was the jab landing, but the short hooks were finding the mark, which had a big effect on Sherman before getting the finish on the mat. Smith, a past UFC light heavyweight title challenger, now moves on in the heavyweight tournament for a $500,000 grand prize. Additionally, another one-time UFC title challenger at 205 advanced in the tournament as well.
